| Course Description: |
This course introduces client-side Internet programming using the current W3C-recommended presentation markup language and supporting elements. Topics include site management and development, markup elements, stylesheets, validation, accessibility, standards, browsers, and basic JavaScripting. Upon completion, students should be able to hand-code web pages with various media elements according to current markup standards and integrate them into websites. |

Basic understanding of
XML and JavaScript
Understand how to display XML data with XSL & HTML

Utilize conditional statements and functions in JavaScript

| Projects: |
You will work on many different Projects throughout the semester. As you can see by the percentage, this is a major component of the class. |
Mini-Examples: |
We
will compile different examples that are not found on my website. These examples will mainly be in the JavaScript section. |
Discussion Board: |
You will have to respond to different topics in the Discussion Board portion of Blackboard. |
| Final Project: |
The final project will be assigned at the end of the semester.
It will bring together all of the things we learned throughout
the semester. |
Articles: |
Each
student will be required to email me a
current XML or JavaScript article with a typed summary
of the article. The typed summary
must be at least 1/2 a page in length and
saved as a Word document (.doc/.docx) or as Rich Text Format (.rtf). The article can be out
of magazines, newspapers, or on the Internet.
You will have one article due each month
starting with January. The dates are:
January
30, February 27, March 27 and April 24. |
Withdrawal

is Tuesday,
March 31st. To initiate
this procedure, you must talk to
your advisor about withdrawing before

This course is web-centered (fully online). Assignments are completed online
either at home or on campus. Be sure to check this course on the website often
for announcements and upcoming assignments. Check your email often as well.

Tests will be administered online. |
