Since we are moving through this class so fast, I am going to put some links here to some possible data that might help you beyond this class.
.htaccess - What I normal do to password protect my control panel (I usually put my control panel in one folder called admin or adminpanel and then password protect it)
These are free downloads that require you to create a database and a database connection. All the code is usually provided:
WordPress - Tool that can be installed and is used for blogging
phpBB - Online bulletin board that you can install
LimeSurvey - Survey tool that you can install on your server
Shopping Cart - Basic Shopping Cart
Photo Gallery - Basic Photo Gallery
You can find tons of free code online that you can use for different things. This only scratches the surface of what you will probably be using in the future.
